GIRI supports automatic translation of instruction text into many languages through our partnership with DeepL. DeepL is the translation engine used for machine translation inside GIRi.
Data security (ISO 27001)
When content is translated automatically in GIRI, processing is handled under our ISO 27001 security framework. In particular, in a German↔German setup (content creation/processing within a German environment), we can ensure the security of translated content accordingly.
How good is the translation?
Machine translation is never 100% perfect — but in day-to-day use it works very well, especially if you follow these rules:
One instruction = one source language. If your original instruction is consistently written in a single language (e.g., fully German), the translation typically works “quite well”.
Mixed languages reduce quality. (e.g., German sentences with lots of English fragments)
Write short and clearly. Short sentences and consistent terminology help a lot.
Key point: In GIRi, text is often supporting — the primary asset is the video / visual instruction. For that use case, automatic translation performs very well.
We have not received feedback that the translation is insufficient. (For safety-critical content, we still recommend a professional or internal expert review.)
