Tips for Great Instructions

Clear structure = better results.

🚀 GETTING STARTED
Plan your steps like a director before you record. Clear structure leads to better results.

Answer three questions before recording — then your "script" is set and the recording flows.

🧭
The 3 questions before you start
1
Goal & audience
What is the goal — and who is it for? Example: "All employees scan the QR code and operate the machine with zero questions."
2
The 3 key points
What are the three most important points/chapters? Example: "Stop & secure the machine · Change tool · Restart & check".
3
The individual steps
Do a short job shadow: observe an experienced person through the entire process.
💡
The most important practical tip — test & refine
Test the first version with someone who wasn't involved. Collect the questions that come up and adjust the instruction. Questions = your to-do list.
⚠️
Common mistakes
  • Clips too long — one action per step is enough.
  • Too much text — the image should carry the information.
  • Skipping the test — then you find the gaps at the customer.

Important for the start: no AR yet
Your first instructions are short video clips — nothing more. AR is powerful but complex; it comes later (Bootcamp phase 3) where it truly pays off. Starting with AR costs you the quick first win.
