Phase 4 · Module 2 · From Project to Standard

Wk 12 · 90-min workshop + ~4 hrs

🎓 PHASE 4 · MODULE 2
A project is temporary and driven by someone. A standard is used by everyone — nobody "drives" it anymore. That transition is the most dangerous moment; 6 months later it is otherwise "nobody really uses it".
Day 1
GIRI in onboarding
3 mo
to the status check
1
owner per area
☑️ The workshop — 90 min, 5 steps
Ownership into line operations (25 min)
Shift lead → their line · QM → inspection instructions · safety officer → briefings. NOT the pilot team. Talk to each person: "Are you in?"
Continuous improvement (20 min)
Everyone may report improvements — via QR feedback, a note or a shout. The owner decides and maintains. A short monthly check: is everything current?
GIRI onboarding for new hires (25 min)
Day 1: the shift lead shows how GIRI works — then the new hire learns via the instructions. Building blocks: "How to use GIRI" as the first instruction + an onboarding path (10–15 instructions) + a progress check.
Handover doc (15 min)
Who owns what · how to report changes · who maintains onboarding · when it gets reviewed · support contact. Stored centrally.
Schedule the first status check (5 min)
A concrete date ~3 months after wk 12 — in every owner's calendar.
☑️ Homework from wk 12 (~4 hrs)
Hold and confirm all ownership conversations
Communicate the improvement channel + run one test change
Set a binding date for the onboarding switch
"From [date], new hires learn via GIRI"
Publish the handover doc
Status-check date into every calendar
⚠️
The 3 killers
  • Ownership stays with the pilot team — they will have other projects in 3 months. Everything gets orphaned.
  • Onboarding switch "when there is time" — never happens. Set a date.
  • No status check scheduled — everything disappears into routine.

Drill question
The area owner says: "I'll take ownership — but only if it means no extra work." What do you say?
